Suzhou Science and Art Culture Centre - China

The Suzhou Science and Art Culture Centre is located along the coast of Jinji Lake near Shenzen in China.


The Centre consists of two main complexes shaped in the form of a crescent moon and a pearl. The crescent block is designed with a unique metal facade forming a textured wall with intricate and organic looking patterns. In contrast, the pearly block with its frameless glass facade stands out as a shiny pearl, both in the day and night. Inside its body there are theatres, restaurants and even a shopping mall!

A customised version of Philips LED Strip II luminaire was used to create the unique lighting effect surrounding the building. This linear floodlight creates a smooth wall wash accent with clearly defined colour bands to provide dynamic, exciting lighting effects.
